Philip Rosemond (Instructor, Ballet Master & Choreographer) Philip S. Rosemond was born in Coconut Grove FL and raised in Washington DC. He was a professional dancer for 25 years until retiring in the late 1990s. He began studying dance at Washington School of Ballet in the early 70s, and has a BFA in dance and theater from the University of Cincinnati. He danced for 8 professional ballet and modern dance companies including, a founding dancer of Washington Ballet, Ballet Met, Cincinnati - New Orleans City Ballet, Colorado Ballet and freelanced with New York City Ballet among many others companies. He teaches classical and contemporary ballet using the Vaganova Method, Horton other modern dance techniques, pedagogy, composition, dance and arts history, acting, theater, performance aesthetics, injury prevention and arts career development as a part of his business, Rosemond Consulting Services, LLC independently and at many schools. He has held positions at the University of Cincinnati and as an Assistant Professor at Colorado State University. Philip has directed dance companies, including Western Chamber Ballet and “MenDance” in Colorado, both of which he founded. He has also directed dance schools since 1989. He has directed and choreographed over 40 ballets and dances. Philip is also a professional curator and archivist, currently manages the Jeff MacNelly Estate Archives and consults many others.
